Nature of the Award
The annual Taylor Daniel Award of Merit recognizes an outstanding practitioner in the field and discipline of Baptist business. The award honors one whose accomplishments and commitments exemplify Southern Baptist business officers’ contributions to our convention’s life and ministry.
Nomination Process
Any person with an established identity in a Southern Baptist church, agency/ institution may make a nomination. Nominations should be forwarded to the secretary-treasurer of the SBBOC, Susan May
Criteria
- The nominee has served a SBC agency/institution or church in a business or administrative relationship.
- The nominee has demonstrated exemplary business and administrative ability.
- The nominee has actively participated in church work.
- The nominee has shown high moral character and business ethics.
- Documentation illustrates faithful commitment and significant contributions to Baptist business
Selection
The nominations are accepted in accordance with criteria as outlined above. The recipient is selected by majority vote of the SBBOC officers
Recognition
The award presentation occurs during the SBBOC. Recognition includes notification of the employer, a certificate or plaque, an inscribed platter/tray and a cash award for the recipient.
